“Mexicans are not worthy of conscious thought,” says Washington state-based ‘spirit’ leader

In a story that is still unfolding, State Democrats in Washington continue to resist calls to return more than $66,000 in donations received from Yelm-based “mystic” J.Z. Knight after videos of tirades peppered with hate speech directed at Catholics, Jews and gays became public earlier this week.

[NW Daily Marker‘s two prior articles documenting $66,300 in donations to State Democrats and $60,800 to the Democratic National Committee and Pres. Barack Obama’s re-election campaign can be read here and here.]

Knight’s attorneys and Democrats in Washington state have claimed the videos previously released are heavily-edited and show Knight’s statements out of context. An almost two-minute unedited video clip released Friday that contains new slurs against Catholics and Mexicans may silence Knight’s apologists.

“The invasion of the Mexicans who just breed like rabbits [audience laughter], they are poison,” Knight says in the video that was taken in March 2011 by now-former students of her Ramtha School of Enlightment.

“I’m telling you this, every G—damn Mexican family is a Catholic — [more laughter] they’re breeding like f—ing rabbits,” she continues.

“All Mexicans are not worthy of conscious thought.”

“San Francisco is beating off the Catholics from down below,” Knight concludes before her words become incoherent and the clip ends.

The video is embedded here with a stern warning that the content is unedited and the graphic language used by Knight has not been bleeped.

The sounds of consenting approval for Knight’s comments among her flock are enough to make one wonder if this is more than just idle bigoted ‘tough talk.’

Another video surfacing Friday shows Knight making the wild statement “all gay men were once Catholic women.” That video can be viewed here.

I do not believe for a moment that State Democratic Party Chairman Dwight Pelz agrees with any of the offensive and hateful statements made by Knight in these or other videos. He has said so, albeit only through proxies in his office.

It boils down to a painfully simple reality: Knight has been repeatedly shown in these videos to espouse racist, bigoted views, Democrats have taken her money, and now that they are aware of the hate she’s preaching they’re not giving it back.

Knight’s money is directly and indirectly funding Democratic candidates who must represent all of the citizens but how can that occur when they are being funded, at least in part, by someone who expresses extreme hatred for so many of them?

For now, the question of whether the money will be returned is settled: they’re keeping it. The question of how this might affect minority and Catholic voters in this election remains to be seen.
